Possibilities to set "Out-of-Office" during unplanned absences

Hi there,

is there a recommended way to deal with unplanned absences (f.e. illness) within Infor OS. I'm not quite sure, if this is rather an ION question.

(Out-of-Office-Setting in Infor OS)

In Infor OS there is the possibility to set out-of-office rules. This is quite suitable for planned absences (f.e. vaccations). Is there also an "admin-mode" to set these for other users in case of unplanned abscenes?

You could use API with delegations. You need to know GUID's and prepare JSON on input.

Hi, I have found the IONDataService API.
In my opinion, however, this can only be used to set the absence or delegation for your own user. It is not possible to define these settings for another user. We use Infor LTR 2023.06 on prem.

The only possibility for a colleague user is to get the office details.

Also I have found KB2230685 which states:

As per confirmation, the requirement to set OOO (Out of Office) to others is not possible as this OOO API is built so you can change stuff about yourself. Even you want to do an automatic OOO with an admin but unfortunately it isn't possible since admin cannot call OOO on behalf of other people too.

So, what can we do, as several enhancement requests were not successful?

Hi Niko,

There was an Update in November 2022 that added an "Inbox-Admin" Role that allowed users to set out of office for others users remotely (Not sure if this was added later into on Prem?)

As an FYI, it should have been possible to use APIs to amend out of office settings for others users as well. This is how we did it prior to this admin setting getting created. You needed the MingleGlobalDataAccess role which lets you access IONAPI Services for other users. (Don't think this would be valid in the new UI however. Again unsure about on-prem.)

I've got a guide that I created for internal use that goes over how to check, set and update other users Out of Office. It is a little tedious, but came in handy when a manager went on leave without setting up delegation rules. Feel free to reach out via email and I could likely share an amended one without any of our user details.
